We had a great visit with Grandma Becci!  There was lots of pinochle playing after Isaiah went to bed.  

I thought Isaiah might like to walk in the grass during a long walk around Green Lake... No, he preferred sitting and playing with sticks.  A preview of what's to come this spring!

Happy 1st Birthday, Isaiah!

Isaiah celebrated his 1st birthday on December 28th! Grandma and Granddad Van Sciver and Erica and Maria visited to celebrate with us. We invited other family and close friends for a party in the clubhouse at our apartment complex.  I made Isaiah a vegan chocolate cake that is so tasty and rich in flavor that I didn't think it needed icing.  It was his first taste of chocolate and sugar and he was dainty and hesitant in trying it. I'm not sure that he liked it but maybe when he's a little older he'll learn that chocolate is his friend.

Our final attempts at our monthly photos...we may need to come up with a different idea for baby #2. It became too hard to get a clear photo of him with the sign and blanket. Erica and Maria were good sports to try to help though :)
